7/29/2007 New Epson printers 4880,7880, 9880 and 11880 in Europe announced
The new 11880 is 62" wide and uses a new head with 9 ink channels. The other printers seem to use the same head as the 3800 (means you can switch easily the blacks but there is still some ink loss). The new 11880 head has both blacks on all the time. Epson also claims to have increases the color gamut by using the new "Vivid Magenta" inks.
With the new 11880 head Epson addressed the main issues with its previous models:
- Switching blacks
- Clog detection
