AF-S 300mm f/4 + TC-14E (ISO 400/Bibble)

Today was one the rare cloudy summer days in the SF Bay Area. We still had fun with our walk in the Los Gatos Creek park.

Snowy Egrets are very common visitors here and posed for some D1X shots at higher ISO settings. With the D1 we limited our photography in general to ISO 400 which could get quite decent results. Also the the D1X photos are pretty much ok at ISO 400 or even ISO 640.

Both shots here are available in full size in our Sample Portfolio. We performed some noise filtering as described in our 760 portfolio to remove off colored pixels, which might not even shown up in a print.

D1X experience today:

  • ISO 400 can be used with good results and even 640 can result in decent photos.
