One of the nicest travel lenses is the new Canon 24-105mm f/4 IS lens (it shows some distortion that you can fix easily with PTLens). Because we hardly touch the wide-angle range we can use the excellent Nikkor AF-S 28-70mm lens on the D2x (a bit bulky and heavy though).

Sample #1

Canon EOS 5D at 80mm (1/125 sec, f/10, ISO 320, IS), FOV 80mm

Nikon D2x at 60mm (1/200 sec, f/8, ISO 320), FOV 90mm

Sample #2

Canon EOS 5D at 90mm (1/125 sec, f/13, ISO 320, IS), FOV 90mm

Nikon D2x at 70mm (1/125 sec, f/10, ISO 320), FOV 105mm

Note on colors: Both images were converted with different RAW converters. The real colors are probably in the middle :-).

For travel photography both cameras performed really very well.

Technique

We used RSE for the D2x files and DPP 2.0.3 for the 5D photos.
