12/17/2008 Major Issues with Mac OSX 10.5.6 Update (source Information Week)
We personally had to reformat a disk in our MacBook and restore from one of our backup disks. Read more on backup here. This was the worst update experience we had in the last 3 years. Normally it all worked just fine.
Lesson: Always backup before you perform such a major update (we did not and paid the price to get an older content back). Fortunately this was not our main workstation.
Update: Installed a 10.5.6 combined update and it worked fine.

As you may have realized dxomark does not measure resolution. Read in the FAQ how to make use of dxomark related to the resolution you need. We quote them here:
"Is it fair that a 12Mpix camera can be rated as highly as a 24Mpix camera?
It actually depends on the use case. If you make 8Mpix prints (20x30cm), then the comparison is fair. If you make 40x60cm or bigger prints, the 12MPix would be insufficient, so it makes more sense to use 24Mpix when there is a need for high resolution."
We consider right now 12MP the sweet spot of all DSLRs. You only need more resolution if you print big or need strong crops.

dxomark.com measures and evaluates sensors of many current DSLRs. They measure the RAW performance (without using any specific RAW converter). The final score for a camera (actually its sensor) is call DxOMark. The free site also includes interesting articles about sensor properties like noise and more.
