12/17/2004 Bad News for the friends of Monarchs: Pacific Grove Sanctuary closed this season

We planned to take some pictures of the monarchs in Pacific Grove. But the sanctuary is closed due to fallen trees. Even worse they seemed to have killed an old lady.

12/3/2004 Photorescue Success Story

For a long time Photorescue is known to be a leading solution for recovering data from memory cards. Fortunately we never needed it for our own images. Today we made a friend very happy: He deleted accidentally the images on his PC and also formatted the card on the same PC. Unfortunately one shot was very important to him. We helped out with Photorescue and recovered all missing images form the card.

We added Photorescue to our new directory of "Useful Tools".

Michael compares the high-end of digital cameras. We will probably test a P25 later this month.

Mike Chaney just released a bew version of Qimage. Mike wrote: " The 2005 edition is a major rewrite that allows Qimage to run much faster than before while using less memory. Users will enjoy faster printing, faster file conversions, ability to handle much larger images, and greater stability especially on older, less capable machines due to reduced memory requirements..."

12/1/2004 C1 3.6 for Mac released

The new version supports the Canon 1Ds Mk. II but unfortunately only for the Mac.
